Regaining Peace

Recently I woke up at 3:00am startled from a disturbing dream that left me feeling distressed and anxious.  I recall the statement:  “If it doesn’t feel good it isn’t you.”  That was how I felt—that I had lost myself and felt trapped by fear.

To recover, I move to a nearby chair, take deep breaths and visualize sending roots from my legs and feet to the center of the earth.  Breathing deeply into my belly, I tap on my knees—left-right, left-right, left-right and with each ‘inbreath’ I softly breathe in myself–breathe in ‘David’ as I imagine filling all the cells of my body with my essence.

Slowly, my breath deepens and softens while tapping becomes lighter and lighter.  Calmness fills me.

Having regained myself I am at peace.
